Meet Mitch – Our Paleo Friendly Contributor…

Hey, BBQers! My name’s Mitch, Paleo Contributor & Aficionado for KC Natural – it’s very nice to “meet” you all.Mitch-Paleo Contributor

My passions stretch far and wide, ranging from playing guitar to drawing, to reading just about anything, to doing yoga and lifting weights, to digital marketing and food photography, and lots of things in-between. What I especially enjoy doing though – and what brings me here today – is cooking up a paleo storm, inspiring others to make healthy changes in their lives and diets, and educating others about the benefits of paleo and autoimmune protocol (AIP) diets.

I have been using the paleo diet to achieve greater health since late 2013 and in 2014, I switched to a modified version of the paleo diet called the Autoimmune Protocol diet to help me manage my autoimmune conditions. When I first started paleo back in 2013, I felt like it was going to be the most difficult thing I’d ever have to do in my life – you mean I have to give up CHEESE!? Turns out though that yes, while it took a little bit of adjusting, the pros far outweighed any potential cons of following the diet, and the way I was feeling (AKA “amazing”) without grains, cheese, processed foods, etc., made it so that after the first week or so, I hardly ever looked back at my life and diet before going paleo.

Besides food, what I like to also talk about though is not only paleo as a diet, but how it is a complete lifestyle, too. Eating paleo is one thing, but practicing a paleo lifestyle where you connect with the land and its food and the farmers who cultivate it, gather with friends around a beautiful meal, clear your mind and body of clutter and anxiety, and move in a way that feels right for YOUR specific body type – now that is something really special, and that’s what truly being paleo is all about: good food, good connections, and a good, healthy life.

That’s also why I’m excited about joining the KC Natural team, because I believe that KC Natural does more than just make crazy good BBQ sauces – it helps people of all diet types and preferences engage in something that’s such a big part of our culture – relaxing by the grill, enjoying delicious food with friends, and savoring every moment – all the things that go hand-in-hand with backyard BBQs and the paleo lifestyle.

If you’d like to learn more about my journey with health and the evolution of my diet, please read my story that was published on the blog, autoimmune-protocol.com. Thanks for reading! I’m looking forward to bringing my passion and expertise for cooking and the paleo lifestyle to the KC Natural team, and I’m excited to get to know you all.
