Paleo AIP Chicken Wings (3-ways!)

wing recipe.jpg

Chicken wings are to poultry as bacon is to pork. It’s the one way of eating the animal that we can all agree on. Trying to figure out ways to enjoy wings that are delicious and Paleo AIP compliant doesn’t have to be a pain. In fact, with a few simple ingredients you probably have in your pantry, you can continue enjoying wings like you used to. And if you are missing something to dip them in, we even link to a couple of AIP-friendly ranch style dipping sauces that would pair well with any of the wing sauce recipes below.

Whether you are firing up the grill for game day, or just want something you can throw in the oven or Instant Pot, here are some quick and simple Paleo AIP-friendly chicken wing recipe options.

Basic BBQ Style AIP Wings

We’ll get the easiest option out of the way. If you’re craving traditional style BBQ wings that are AIP compliant, just grill, bake, or fry up some wings and apply our Mastodon or Primal Cherry BBQ sauces. This option doesn’t require any reading, mixing, or measuring. You can either toss them in sauce after grilling, or brush the sauce on as you finish up, for more of a grilled texture.

Honey Mustard Style AIP Wings

Until we launched our Imitation AIP Mustard product, this sauce was a daydream. This recipe (and the next one) is one I learned while working Wing Night at a bar in Kissimmee, Florida at my first cooking gig. It couldn’t be simpler…

·      KC Natural Imitation Mustard – 2 tbsp
·      1/4 cup Honey

Go ahead and add a dash of cinnamon or ginger for extra flair. Or add some granulated onion or garlic, or a dash of smoked sea salt for a more savory flavor.

Honey Garlic Paleo AIP Wings

Just like the previous option, you can go with a two-ingredient combo, or spice it up. You can’t go wrong with this one. We suggest grilling your wings until they are done, and then rolling them in this thick glaze.

·      1/4 cup Honey
·      2 tbsp Minced Garlic

If you’re like us, you would rather eyeball a recipe than go through the laborious process of measuring things out. Feel free to do the same with this one, or any of these. Personally, we think recipe creation is more of an art than a science – but we’ll leave it open for debate.
