It started with a savory daydream…
KC Natural pays homage to our Kansas City roots & all-natural ingredients. We make our products in the heart of America, & the World Capital of BBQ (if you ask us), so we’re proud to offer savory solutions for people who have to eat tomato or nightshade free.

This is the one we receive the most. Fortunately, you can treat KC Natural products just like any other condiment you buy from the store. While there isn’t an exact date of expiration, you can keep our products refrigerated for several months - as long as you don’t cross-contaminate the product or keep past expiration date printed on the bottle.
-
No. We make sure to avoid products that may contain gluten.

KC Natural started as an allergen-free BBQ sauce company by founder Brendon O’Neill. When approached by a friend who can’t have nightshades, KC Natural created the Mastodon BBQ sauce that we still sell today. An instant hit, and a complete line of nightshade free products would soon be born. Seven years later, here we are.

As a small company, it is very difficult to get retail distribution. If you don’t see us in your local health food store, tell them to contact us. We can direct ship across the US (except Alaska & Hawaii, sorry).

We love it when we hear from locals, even though we aren’t in KC area stores right now. That should change in the coming months. So stay tuned for updates.

Even though our products are not certified gluten-free, we check to make sure our ingredients do not contain gluten, and our facility is a gluten-free facility. The owner of KC Natural has celiac, and so do many of our customers. We have never had any issues. But we understand if you wish our products were certified. Hopefully it’s something we can make happen in the near future.

We understand the frustration of allergen-free products being more expensive. In our case, it’s simply a LOT more expensive to make products with carrots, beets, tart cherries, and high quality vinegar and seasonings than it is to make products with tomato paste and water. And, as a small business, we can’t get the volume breaks in pricing that big businesses do. And with inflation the last couple of years, we have struggled like most people and small businesses. So we’re doing our best to keep our prices as low as possible while still being able to keep the lights on.
